September is Costa Rica’s “green season”- It will very likely rain each day of the conference as daily afternoon showers are typical during this time.

What to Pack

Passport & Driving license
Clothes for 5 days and 4 nights
Something waterproof to wear. Raincoat and/or umbrella.
Waterproof sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. Costa Rica is right on the equator, and the UV index will be high. SPF 50-70 is recommended for those who burn easily.
Aloe or something alleviative in case you do burn!
Mosquito repellant
Any other hygiene products

Sunglasses
Swimsuit if you plan on visiting the ocean or pool.
Hiking shoes, if you plan to hit the trails.
Flashlight. The rain occasionally causes brief power outages.
Waterproof backpack and/or plastic bags- to protect belongings from the rain.
Travel insurance. Always recommended.
